Last night I enjoyed a fun session with a mom I have known for several years. I took pregnancy pictures of her with her first; now it was time to take a couple of her pregnant with her second. She also wanted a shot of her and her daughter and then her daughter alone as she is just about to celebrate her second birthday.

I just loved how her daughter’s hair curled in the humidity. In fact I set up for this amazing shot with the sun framing the back of her head and all the curls when I started feeling this pain on my leg. I ignored it at first, but then there was more and more. I looked down only to see hundreds of ants all over my legs; they were stinging me! I had inadvertently kneeled on their nest while setting up to take the picture. Ahhhhh. . . it was a bit traumatic. Luckily mom and child were unscathed. And seeing the pictures, it was all worth it. Here is a little sneak peek:

Yesterday I had the pleasure of photographing one of my daughter’s friends and her family. Here is a sneak peek – more to come!

This little sweetheart’s photos are edited. Here is an example of what a newborn proof set from a shoot might look like.

Just a few weeks ago I was taking maternity shots of this couple. I got to shoot them again this morning – only this time it was with their newborn daughter. Seriously – have you ever seen anything so cute?

What a fun shoot! I first met Lynne when she did a maternity shoot with me and she was pregnant with her first. Now here we are years later – we each have another child. How time flies!

On this particular day her oldest was not wanting to be in any one place too long – so I tailed him for a while to get some shots. My favorite are at the fountain. His face, his eyes say it all; he was having fun!

Then his brother sat so well for a couple of shots; I just love the shot here he is peek over at me. Then shortly after he refused to leave his mom’s arms – but that didn’t mean he wasn’t a total ham. . .

We have a fun little tradition that has started in our family. Each Father’s Day we go to Murphy’s Landing to see “the old people” as my daughter’s affectionately call them. We tour the houses set up as they were decades ago. We talk with the people in costume – this year we met Abe Lincoln. There are animal pelts, spinning wheels and even a game of baseball. My daughter even got in trouble for talking while the teacher was talking and had to place her nose on the caulk board at the front of the schoolhouse. That got her attention!

The weather was amazing this year. I snapped a couple fun pictures of the crew. My poor husband being a good sport:
